Similar to the $TQNT coverage made by another PT analyst, I am covering $ARMH in anticipation of the new Droid X that will be officially unveiled next week.  Some links on the topic:

Droid X uses the ARMv7 processor, which is a direct competitor to Snapdragon, which I incorrectly (or prematurely, depending on how you look at it) predicted would be a big hit due to the Nexus One.  Note: The HTC EVO also uses the Snapdragon.  ARM is considered a leader in this space, and from the look of that demo video in the first link, it's a very snappy processor, if you'll pardon the obligatory pun.

With the X billed as a legitimate competitor to the iPhone 4, I'll give a confidence 3 on this long coverage due to $ARMH's already inflated share price and the fact that they are more closely linked to the turmoil in European markets than their American counterparts.  However, I am at confidence 9 that the Droid X will be my next phone.

It seems we are evolving into a bloviation portal for  all things smartphone, as our analysts have issued various perspectives on so many companies affected by this Verizon announcement.  Numerous coverages on $AAPL.  And Blockbuster, which we've covered is relevant because the killer app (lol, I just said killer app) on the Droid X is its Netflix-like movie streaming app, courtesy of $BBI.  With that huge 4.3 inch screen, this could finally be the sticky mobile movie app we've been waiting for.  We've got coverages on Verizon and Sprint as well.  Am I forgetting anyone?

The elephant in the room here is the lack of 4G/LTE support, but then again, iPhone 4 doesn't have that either.  For this reason, I think the comparisons to the iPhone 4 are apropos, despite the Droid X's less spectacular resolution, and the jury is still out on any comparisons to EVO.
