Sitting here watching the 60 Minutes exposé on the Deep Water Horizon explosion & thinking about how utterly brownulated (beyond Domino's Sugar & probably even beyond my coverage of Domino's Pizza) BP is. Listening to whistle-blower Kenneth Abbott speak out about the Horizon Event it seems clear that much of this could have been prevented had they heeded any of the numerous warning signs that occurred after the initial damage to their drill. Further, potential exists for an even worse disaster should the BP-owned rig "Atlantis" experience a breakdown. Reportedly, 95% of the plans for the underwater structure of this rig were never approved before it was constructed. Even if BP is able to fix whatever problems may exist with Atlantis before another disaster occurs, they're on the hook for quite a bit of scratch to stem the tide of black sludge welling up from under Horizon, and the even bigger flow of negative press in which they're currently drowning.
