Last earnings I successfully predicted that Chipotle's earnings would surprise to the upside.  What did I base this on?  Primarily my own 'field research'.  And by this I mean all the burrito bols I eat.

This time is no different.  Sure I would love to have you believe I have a solid quantitative analysis behind this pick, but I don't.  Others could possibly provide this.  But look, not very long ago this stock was well above my 141 target, peaking at 152.  What's changed since then?  As far as I can tell the only thing is market attitude toward risk.

But here's the great part about Chipotle.  There is no real risk.  Sure, stock prices can always fall.  But this is not a 'risky' company.  They make great money quarter after quarter, and they use their earnings to fund carefully-paced growth.  They run all of their own stores and they are careful to not become what Starbucks was for a while (where each opening just cannibalized other stores in the same area).

They make fresh food and something in it is addictive as hell.  I personally think it's the fresh cilantro, but this is probably overly simplistic.  The flavors of the chicken and steak are unbeatable.

So this coverage is a reflection of real-world call-buying for the August 140s.  If this coverage is correct those calls will make me a nice little bit... and subsidize my burrito bol habit.
