Okay, I'm sure that everyone here knows that Corning is about much more then that casserole dish that's baking in your oven. If you've forgotten, it was a high flyer during the dot.com days because of all the fiber that they sold. And these days, people talk about Corning when they talk about flat screen TVs and displays, and they've gotten caught up in the hype for 3-D televisions. But did you know they make diesel engines as well?
Corning is an interesting company that is very diversified, and I think a great long term hold, but this prediction is more about the 3-D television hype, and articles I keep reading about a new thicker fiber that they have have developed that that does in fact carry more data (if you've studied networking, you may be scratching your head and saying doesn't thinner fiber carry more data with less noise) as well as fiber that can be bent around corners, stapled, and even wrapped around nails.
I'm not so confident in the Target that I've picked for this one, but I like GLW for the long term...and I'm kicking myself for not buying more when it was was 13.
