While skimming the summary for this company, it sounded a lot to me like they were, among other things, in the business of collecting and analyzing urine samples.  Turns out that they are.  They make all sorts of piss tests.

They do a lot of other things, too.  Disease research, water and waste water treatment, pandemic flu response, "green" product sales to the government and private interests through big-ass, bloated contracts, etc.

And acqusitions.  LOTS of acquisitions.  Phadia, Sterilin, Dionex, all completed or initiated within the past couple of months. Lomb Scientific, Fermentas, Proxeon A/S, Finnzymes, and Ahura Scientific in 2010.  B.R.A.H.M.S. in 2009.  FIBERLite Centrifuge, Inc., Affinity BioReagents, and Open Biosystems in 2008.  La-Pha-Pack, NanoDrop Technologies, and Davis Inotek (business sales) in 2007.  That's 15 acquisitions in the past five years!

I tend to play small caps a lot more than large caps, but this is a huge, multinational that will continue to make scads of money for a long time.  No doubt about it.
