Aktieselskabet Dampskibsselskab has been around since 1889. In 2009, they changed their name (wisely, I think ) from this nine-syllable tongue twister to the much more easy-to-manage TORM A/S.
So what the hell do they do? They're a shipping company located in Copenhagen, Denmark that provides tanker and dry bulk shipping with a fleet of 140 vessels.
Their product tankers carry refined oil products, such as gasoline, jet fuel, naphtha, and diesel oil and their dry bulk vessels carry iron ore and coal for utilities and the steel industry; and commodities, such as grain, bauxite, and fertilizers.
This is more a play on the former segment of their services. I got one in the chops on a coverage of Diana (DSX) that lost almost 15% last year, but I'm tinkering with the idea that there may be some increase in profits for an outfit like TORM as the price of oil simmers in 2011.The company’s dry bulk vessels carry iron ore and coal for utilities and the steel industry; and commodities, such as grain, bauxite, and fertilizers.
